The Feasibility Phase for the LMEC proposed toll road bypass around Lafayette was completed in July 2005 and the project has progressed into the Environmental Documentation phase. The Environmental Phase will be performed in conformance with federal and state processes that have been established for projects such as the LMEC toll road. Upon completion of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Records of Decision (ROD), the project can move directly into design and construction. The project team is currently preparing the Tier 1 EIS to establish a general corridor for the toll road from U.S. 90 South to I-49 North. This corridor will be locked down by a Tier 1 ROD.
